April 10, 2020 (Des Moines) – Optimae LifeServices announced today its shift to telehealth service delivery amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The solution is part of Optimae Behavioral Health’s ongoing commitment to provide Iowans with quality therapy and medication management services.
“The safety of our customers, employees and community members is of utmost importance,” said Susan Martin, chief operating officer of Optimae Services. “By leveraging video-based and telephonic technologies, we are continuing to deliver our trusted and respected services in a secure, confidential environment while ensuring we are meeting the health needs of Iowans during these uncertain times.”
Optimae customers connect to home-based therapists and prescribers through a free software application and receive training in how to navigate the user-friendly technology. The platform, VSee, offers a full array of psychiatry services through end-to-end, HIPAA compliant encryption that is guaranteed to ensure that patient to practitioner conversations are private and confidential.
“At Optimae, we have been using telepsychiatry for some time,” said Tracy Liptak, a regional behavioral health director for Optimae Behavioral Health. “When social distancing recommendations were announced, our Behavioral Health and Information Technology teams swung into action to expand telehealth offerings across our local offices.”
Optimae Behavioral Health Services assists Iowans with a number of life challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), stress, relationship challenges and psychotic disorders. Optimae therapists are trained in a variety of treatment interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, client centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy and trauma focused CBT (TF-CBT).
Optimae is also continuing to provide recovery and resource center activities and peer support virtually, at no charge, in southeastern Iowa.
