EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Must have an advanced degree in one of the fields of psychology, counseling and guidance, mental health, psychiatric nursing, social work, or an M.D. or D.O. eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- A minimum of two years post-Master’s degree experience providing services in a mental health field is required.
- Must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Behavioral Health Director works under general supervision of the COO of Central Iowa and provides direct clinical supervision to therapists, other mental health professionals, and paraprofessionals working in outpatient clinics, care facilities, school-based programs, and recovery centers. Establishes and maintains a high level of quality and efficiency in the delivery of professional mental health and paraprofessional services to the people we serve. Promotes and facilitates the integration of mental health services with all other Optimae LifeServices services being offered to the public. Responsible for development of new services to be offered in a region in cooperation with other Optimae LifeServices staff and programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Effectively perform personnel actions related to selection of staff, and supervision of staff’s performance, development and efficiency, and oversee disciplinary actions, terminations, work schedules and assignments of same staff.
- Participate in, and coordinate staff training, and development of educational materials.
- Prepare and implement policies for the mental health professionals and paraprofessionals performing the functions of diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and assessment, and school-based program activities.
- Interpret administrative requirements of clinical Optimae LifeServices staff and communicate administrative needs of clinical services to the COO of Central Iowa.
- Oversight of clinical assessments including social histories, diagnosis, evaluations, psychological testing and consultations.
- Oversight and provision of individual, group, and couples therapies and the development of corresponding treatment plans.
- Prepare, analyze, and report financial information for review by COO of Central Iowa and relevant to the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical programs.
- Work in coordination with relevant administrators to provide clinical oversight for associated treatment programs.
- Provide quality assurance for the work of mental health professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures relating to Chapter 24 standards.
- Coordinate the provision of supervision to graduate interns.
- Coordinate the provision of crisis and emergency services.
- Carry of case load of therapy clients.
- Development of new programs providing mental health services.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and institutes to keep current in relevant therapies, management, and regulations.
- Carry cell phone/pager as needed.
