EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent is required along with good math skills and accounting aptitude.
- Prior experience in an office setting is required.
- Experience in serving a wide range of socio-economic and health backgrounds preferred.
- Computer training and ability to keep accurate books is required.
JOB SUMMARY
The Payroll Practitioner assists the HR Director with the program business, maintains complete records of all transactions, and keeps professional matters confidential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to lift and carry:
- up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- up to 40 lbs. rarely.
- Ability to climb stairs while carrying objects.
- Normal vision with correction.
- Normal range of hearing with corrections.
