As an organization that constantly strives to engage with the community, we at Optimae LifeServices do our best to stay tuned to the goings on in our regions.
For this week’s Feel Good Friday, we’ll discuss a valiant effort from a Jefferson county 4-H club to provide for their local animal shelter.
Per the Southeast Iowa Union, in an article written by Andy Hallman, “The Future Forgers 4-H Club made and donated blankets to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter so its cats and dogs would have something nice and warm to sleep on in their enclosures.”
The blankets were a project began by Girl Scout Troop 9560 in Fairfield, who had to cease the project at the beginning of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Heidi Pickard, the troop’s leader, discovered that by the time summer had ended only six scouts planned to continue participating in the club. As such, she made the decision to disband the troop.
However, she was also the head of the Future Forgers 4-H Club, and the girls therein were eager to finish where Troop 9560 had left off!
We at Optimae will never hesitate to congratulate the heroes in our community, and wish to tell the girls of both the former Troop 9560 as well as the girls of the Future Forgers 4-H Club a hearty “Well done!”
