EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years of age to provide direct support without line-of-sight supervision.
- Must have associate degree, or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must complete 9.5 hours of employment services training as offered thorough Direct Course or through ACRA certified training program before providing a billable service.
- Must complete 4 hours of continuing education in employment services annually.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Personal computer knowledge is essential: MS Office Applications (Word, Excel.)
JOB SUMMARY
The Job Coach delivers high quality training services to customers. This position is responsible for supporting customers (persons served and employers) after job placement to ensure successful workplace orientation and job retention. The Job Coach will be responsible for developing a workplace training plan. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with a wide variety of people and have good computer skills. Shall not provide direct support to an immediate family member.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibit reliable, regular and punctual attendance.
- Be knowledgeable of all Optimae LifeServices policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that vocational billing is done accurately
- Make sure that all trainee files are complete, accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide transportation training to participants, as needed.
- Display consistently courteous and respectful interactions with all participants.
- Work with other members of the employment team to develop marketing plans.
- Document objective notes that communicate the participant’s progress on goals and performance.
- Acts as a liaison with the employer, providing training, systematic plan of instruction, supports, interventions and consultation on employment related issues for success of long term employment.
- Assists individuals with accommodations and ADA related issues.
- Complies with employer policies and procedures while assigned to their business.
- Maintains a professional relationship with customer’s family members, employers, and funding sources.
- Assures compliance with agency and departmental safety and confidentiality standards.
- Works in a variety of settings and assignments as needed to accommodate changing needs and or requests by employers, including hours of work and location.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally required to lift and carry objects up to 10 lbs.
- Required to have normal vision with correction.
- Required having a normal range of hearing with correction or the ability to effectively understand verbal communication through assistive technology or learning skills.
- Often perform daily duties involving, bending, pivoting, squatting, kneeling and crouching.
- Frequently required to communicate effectively in a wide variety of settings with a wide variety of people.
