For the last day of DSP Appreciation Week, we will spotlight the nominations from our Southern Prairie region, as highlighted on our Service Map.
Lucas County nominates April Matheny. April has been willing to help out by assuming multiple positions due to staffing shortages since COVID. She has worked every site/shift that has been requested of her. She has covered scattered customers when needed. She has consistently followed all of the DSP worker expectations and is always willing to help out her team. April has been employed with Optimae LifeServices since April of 2015. April adheres to Optimae’s core values and is always willing to tackle any task requested of her.
Jefferson County nominates John Graber. John is a self -starter and strives to improve his existing techniques. He is a team player and always ready to assist other staff to make their job easier, is dependable and goes over and above to get the job done, and is an encourager to all persons he comes in contact with.
Davis County nominates Candis Elkins. Candis has been a DSP in Bloomfield since early 2020. Candis epitomizes the Optimae Core Values. She is kind and respectful to customers and coworkers, she faithfully attends staff meetings and other educational opportunities, she understands and supports customer choice and is a strong example of teamwork. Candis helps out at both sites, she covers shifts, she encourages her teammates, she is friendly and outgoing and is an all-around great staff!
Wapello County nominates Jacob Wyborny. Jacob has been a DSP in Ottumwa for about 5 years. When someone asks about the staff you want to call when there’s a tough spot, Jacob is the first to come to mind. Jacob is dedicated to both the customers and also to Optimae. He was the first to sign up for the Mobile Assistance Support Helpers (M.A.S.H) team and was willing to work long shifts in a site where Covid was present. Jacob remains calm in a crisis and is always reliable. He is an asset to the DSP team in Ottumwa!
As we were showcasing nominations from each region, the regions themselves were holding week long celebrations of their own.
