EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- With a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the delivery, planning, coordination or administration of human services is required.
- With an AA degree in a human services field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the delivery, planning, coordination or administration of human services is required.
- With a high school diploma or GED a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the delivery, planning, coordination or administration of human services is required.
- Must be able to use a computer efficiently.
- Must possess the aptitude and willingness to work closely with persons diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or brain injuries.
- Previous experience with planning, organizing, and supervising the work of staff and volunteers is strongly preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
The Recovery Center Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Recovery Center drop-in center. The Recovery Center Coordinator plans and facilitates all of the center’s groups and activities using Optimae LifeServices mission and values as a guide, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Recovery Center Coordinator fosters teamwork by encouraging cohesion, joint efforts, and interdependence. The Recovery Center Coordinator reports directly to the applicable Program Director, and serves as a member of the program’s leadership team. The Recovery Center Coordinator supervises a team of staff members who assist in facilitating center’s activities and assist in providing support to customers in the expansion of their abilities by empowering them to choose and be successful in valued roles within their living, working, and social environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management and Supervision Skills
- Provide individualized, ethical, and appropriate interactions with customers, in accordance with Optimae LifeServices’ mission and values, which enhance the customer’s sense of autonomy, dignity, self-esteem, and efficacy.
- Maintain confidentiality and the human and civil rights of customers in a manner consistent with Optimae LifeServices’ mission and core values.
- Plan and facilitate all Recovery Center groups and activities based on customer desires and goals by working collaboratively with other teams or outside agencies when needed.
- Interview, hire, discipline, and terminate employees as needed.
- Coordinate staff to establish a system and process that creates a valued and motivated workforce that recognizes and utilizes team building principles.
- Establish and assure a system for training, evaluating, and developing staff.
- Coordinate and lead staff coaching, using pro-active problem-solving, team-based methods for customer-driven services, and monthly staff plans of development.
- Measure and evaluate staff and program improvements needed and recognize accomplishments
- Address emergencies as they arise and use resources for crisis intervention as needed.

Orientation, Training, and Staff Development
- Complete Orientation Training within 45 days of hire.
- Attend coaching sessions to develop skills.
- Complete annual trainings in Consumer Rights, Ethics, Confidentiality, and Professionalism.
- Participate in annual evaluations and staff development planning.
- Attend Mandatory Reporter Training every 5 years.
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to lift and carry:
- up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- up to 40 lbs. rarely.
- Ability to climb stairs while carrying objects.
- Normal vision with correction.
- Normal range of hearing with corrections.
- Frequently perform daily duties which involve standing, bending, pivoting, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
