EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a business related field is preferred.
- Experience in business management field is preferred.
- Excellent money handling math skills are essential.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance; willingness to drive larger vehicles is a plus.
- Experience in training and coaching employees is preferred.
- Must have the ability to work with computers, especially Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to use the Internet.
- Must be able to have a flexible work schedule, as weekends are often required and evenings may be required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
JOB SUMMARY
The Business Manager is responsible for the day-to-day business activities of the micro-business(s) of Optimae LifeServices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle and record daily sales of the micro-business.
- Handle and record daily sales of the micro-business.
- Ensure that assigned tasks are completed in the appropriate time frames.
- Provide training, instruction, and job coaching to the sales associates and document these services.
- Complete weekly schedules for sales associates.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and general presentation of the retail space.
- Demonstrate innovation and creativity in the overall presentation of the retail space.
- Provide support and encouragement to the sales associates and communicate needs or changes with other members of the team.
- Work during the business hours, including weekends and evenings as scheduled.
- Maintain inventory lists.
- Provide excellent service to customers.
- Complete monthly financial reports.
- Coordinate maintenance for the business.
- Coordinate with Supported Employment Service Coordinators, Job Coaches, and other Optimae LifeServices staff.
- Perform marketing duties to promote the business.
- Manages all interviews, hiring, discipline, and terminations of employees as needed.
- Attend and lead weekly business meetings.
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to lift and carry:
- up to 25 lbs. frequently.
- up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
- over 40 lbs. rarely.
- Ability to climb stairs while carrying objects.
- Normal vision with corrections.
- Normal range of hearing with corrections.
- Ability to frequently perform daily duties which involve standing, bending, pivoting, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
