Tiffany Siefken brings a unique approach to therapeutic services to the Optimae Behavioral Health team in southeastern Iowa, which she joined in 2020 as a licensed mental health counselor (LMSW). Her background in massage therapy allows her to offer a holistic perspective alongside research-based evidence.
She has immersed herself in working with people from varying backgrounds, including adolescents and adults. Her experience includes working with previously incarcerated persons, young adults, couples, individuals of varying ages, emergency responders and critical incidents. She has a passion for helping others to develop a sense of empowerment, self-growth and independence.
Concerns regarding depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, adjustment challenges, trauma and more are all areas Siefken addresses. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and family and group therapy, with a future endeavor of expanding her techniques. She utilizes a person-centered and strengths-based approach when working with her clients.
Siefken works with individuals and couples regarding sexual and relationship challenges, provides therapy to those seeking alternative sexual expression and works with teens and adults in maneuvering their sexual identity and gender roles.
She graduated from Brescia University (Owensboro, Kentucky) with her master’s degree in social work.
