Angela Dossett, MSN, is board certified as psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) at Optimae LifeServices in the southeast Iowa region. Dossett is also board certified in psychiatric nursing (RN-BC) and certified as a medical surgical registered nurse (CMSRN). Prior to Optimae, she served at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) working inpatient in internal medicine, a unique medical-psychiatric unit, and as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) implementing yoga practice on all inpatient behavioral health units at UIHC.
As a nurse and certified yoga instructor, Dossett has completed an 18-month evidenced-based practice internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on the effects of yoga practice for people in the hospital to help reduce stress while being inpatient. Dossett is submitting a manuscript on her work for publication on this project.
Dossett is a recipient of the Daisy Award in nursing practice. She also achieved silver-level status in the professional recognition program at UIHC. She has presented on the effects of yoga practice and behavioral health training for fellow nurses in the emergency department at UIHC.
Dossett graduated with her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and received her graduate education at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
